Ocular Homecare are an NHS registered mobile opticians service operating within Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Lincoln. We can provide the young and the elderly with a FREE NHS comprehensive eye test at home. We also visit care homes, assisted living facilities and private homes. We use the latest portable optical equipment so that we can offer the same service you would get in your high street store. The eye examination will screen for conditions such as Glaucoma, Cataract, Macular Degeneration as well as other underlying health conditions.
Our Optometrists have great experience in conducting mobile eye tests and have undergone rigorous training to ensure they provide the best possible care for your eyes from your own home. All of our Optometrists are DBS approved, registered with the General Optical Council and members of the Association of Optometrists.
If you do not wish to visit a high street opticians and do not qualify for a FREE NHS Eye Test, we can also offer you a private eye test at home for £60!
We are passionate in providing the best possible care for your eyes which is why we offer a personalised, patient centered approach to all of our patients. Our Optometrists will not only carry out your eye test at home, but if needed, will also help you choose a new set of glasses and personally fit them. The Optometrist will then deliver your glasses to you and ensure they are perfect. Ocular Homecare will then give you a follow up call in 6 months time from delivery to check how you are getting on following your home eye test.
If your eye examination indicates you need glasses, you can select a pair from our fantastic range of non-designer and designer glasses which are all competitively priced. You have a choice from free NHS frames or can pick from our other ranges. Patients who qualify for NHS funding will get optical vouchers to lower the cost of the glasses from our mid/high ranges.

The Optometrist will give you a call on the day of your appointment an hour before they are due to arrive.
Upon arrival, the Optometrist will go through your eye history and any concerns. They will then carry out the eye test at home, using specialist optical equipment.
If the home eye test confirms you need glasses, the Optometrist will go through a selection of frames and lenses for you to choose from. Ocular Homecare have a great range of designer and non designer frames to select from, all competitively priced!
If you qualify for NHS funding, you can get Free NHS glasses or you will get help towards the cost of the glasses.
The Optometrist will personally deliver your glasses within 28 days of the visit. The fitting and suitability of the glasses will be double checked.
We have an NHS contract to provide FREE eye tests at home to those who meet the eligibility criteria. We can also offer you money off your glasses through NHS funded optical vouchers.

The eye tests are tailored to the individual, so the test length can vary. It shouldn’t take any longer than 45 minutes however this may change depending on the sight test.
Yes, absolutely. Our Optometrists have a wealth of optical and clinical experience and are trained to a very high standard. The equipment used are portable versions of what you get in the high street and are of the latest technology.
If your frames are less than 2 years old and still in good condition, Ocular Homecare can offer to put in new lenses. The Optometrist will advise on what is the most suitable option.
Your glasses should cost you no more than the costs of spectacles on the high street. We are competitively priced and offer a wide range of excellent quality frames and designer frames, starting price from £50! If you get help from NHS funding, you will also get help towards the cost of glasses.
Your new glasses should arrive within 28 days of date of order. The Optometrist who carried out the test will personally deliver the spectacles and go through the fitting and details with you to ensure they are perfect.

This policy applies to all purchases made with Ocular Homecare through our domiciliary (home visit) service.
All prescription lenses supplied by Ocular Homecare are custom-made to your individual prescription and requirements.

If your lenses are faulty, incorrectly manufactured, or not as described, we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.

We will assess the issue and provide a repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
As our services are provided in your home, your purchase is classed as an off-premises contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.

If you cancel before lenses are manufactured, a partial refund may be available (frames only, where applicable).
You are responsible for ensuring that the prescription provided is correct and up to date.
Ocular Homecare cannot be held responsible for issues arising from incorrect or outdated prescriptions supplied by the customer.
Some patients may require time to adjust to new glasses.
